Dear Brothers & Sisters:

AFSCME Local 1598 is scheduling a Steward's Training for its local. This training is very informative to help you in your position as a shop steward.

The course will cover the roles of a steward, how to handle grievances and their procedures, how to deal with discipline case, the duty of fair representation. This course will also explain The Americans with Disabilities Act, The Family & Medical Leave Act, The Occupational Safety & Health Administration and Court Rulings on Sexual Harassment.

This training will be held on Saturday March 28, 2009 from 9:00am till 5:00pm at the Doylestown Library, Pearl S. Buck Room in Doylestown. Lunch will be provided.
